Kentucky Voluntary Smoke Management Plan

In March of 2022 the KPFC board voted to adopt the Kentucky Voluntary Smoke Management plan as BMPs for fire practitioners in Kentucky.  All fire managers in Kentucky are strongly encouraged to review and utilize this document in their fire operations to minimize impacts from smoke to fire personnel and the public.  In addition to the  required notifications to Kentucky Division of Forestry all certified burn boss are asked to notify the Air Quality Branch Office, for the region they are working in, of your intended fire operations.  A list of these offices can be found at https://eec.ky.gov/Environmental-Protection/Pages/regional-offices.aspx.
